Upon Arrival: La Paz, Round 2
The excitement I felt returning to La Paz, knowing the friends I would reunite with, was quite overwhelming! It had been almost exactly one year since I had left. Aimee even came out on a small dingy sailer to greet me. That was a beautiful welcome, for sure. I’m surprised I didn’t fall of the bow from jumping around and waving with gusto!
Then, as luck would have it, I also got to see a couple of dear Portland friends, Colin O’Brady & Jenna Besaw. They happened to be in La Paz for his work & only had a week left. How fortunate!!!
You guys remember these two, Colin & Jenna? I tend to brag about their awesome adventures often enough so you should know them by now. If not, look ‘em up!
Although these two had met Wahine Toa up in Portland it wasn’t until we were all here in Baja that we actually got to go sailing together. It was perfect timing & perfect weather for our day out.
The second order of business was to have a girls weekend back out at the island. Aimee, Roció & I, known as the Clam Bandidas, had some catching up to do.
It wasn’t long before I was settled back in and began feeling right at home; visiting with my sailing community, taking in the beautiful sights, & walking on the malecón at sunset. Good times!
